Brigid Watson and Matthew Capaldo, "Form and Content"

Aug 15 - Aug 28

Symbolist Matthew Capaldo and Expressionist Brigid Watson are juxtaposed to create a compelling show. At first glance, the painters couldn’t seem more different but at second look they share beautifully saturated color, a sensitivity to every inch of the canvas and deep abiding understanding of the picture plane.  Capaldo and Watson are passionate about their lives as painters, with works in collections around the country and abroad.

Reception     Friday July 25        6-8 p.m.

In her fourth year as an exhibiting artist with Four Eleven, Grimm continues to delight her extensive following. Fearless brushwork within a bold composition give her oil on canvas landscapes and organic abstractions a refreshing sense of freedom and space.  Her nearly constant sell out shows mark this emerging painter as one to watch.

He Gives Good Mudhead: A Collaborative Performance by Liz Carney, Brian Einersen and Shania LeCaire Riviera.

Performance         Tuesday July 15     Six to Eight p.m.

Visiting Bears and the people who love them are invited to observe the artist and models in a wildly engaging painting performance. The tradition of “Mudhead Portraits” is a Provincetown phenomenon inspired by the early impressionists who painted on the town beaches. In a modern day nod to the past, these artists re-appropriate the “Mudhead” melding queer culture with high brow art. The evening will include “Art Talk” with Brian Einersen, a hilarious conceptual artist and comic creative force.
