Four Eleven Gallery is proud to present Pete Hocking's new show, "Fieldwork: The Time We Spent in Silence." This is Pete's sixth solo show with the gallery, and will be on view July 12th-25th.
A visual poet of the dunes, Pete Hocking’s work is masterful, with sweeping landscapes presented in lush color. This suite of paintings explores his on-going relationship with the Outer Cape landscape, and reimagines the shared awe he experienced with a number of companions during walks taken over the past year. Hocking’s work continues to be concerned with the ways individual identity is inscribed into human and non-human landscapes, and ultimately in the ways that the non-human world defies intervention.
