TIA SCALCIONE

For more than twenty-five years, Tia Scalcione has lived on the Outer Cape, where the landscape continues to shape her artistic practice. Working primarily in oil, ink, and watercolor, she is drawn to the qualities of light and the emotional resonance of place. Rather than simply recording what she sees, her paintings capture an experience of witnessing a moment of beauty before it disappears.

The Outer Cape remains an enduring source of inspiration. Its expansive skies, changing tides, and subtle transitions of season offer an endless rhythm of observation that informs her work. Through painting, she explores the relationship between landscape and memory, creating works that invite viewers to pause and experience the atmosphere of a place as much as its physical form.

Tia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Boston University.
