I was born and raised in Texas, where my early connection to art took root. After earning my BFA from the University of Texas, I moved to Aspen, Colorado, where I studied at the Center of the Eye School of Photography. Those five years deeply shaped my understanding of image and light. Eventually, I settled on the East Coast, and in 1993, I earned my MFA with Honors in Painting and Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to exhibit and lecture widely throughout New England, sharing my passion for art and process. Teaching has also been an important part of my journey from the Continuing Education Department at RISD to School One in Providence, St. George’s School in Middletown, and even Ah Haa School for the Arts in Telluride, Colorado.
One of the highlights of my career was receiving Best In Show at the Newport Art Museum’s Member’s Juried Exhibition in 2000, an honor that deeply encouraged my continued creative exploration.
